Helena Ricci performs at Aldeburgh Festival as part of the Britten Pears Young Artist Ensemble

Helena Ricci returns to Snape Maltings as a Britten Pears Young Artist alumna.

In addition to the 50th anniversary of the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme, 2022 marks 30 years since the flagship Composition and Performance Course was founded by Oliver Knussen and Colin Matthews. The intensive week-long course, with composers and performers working closely together, gives participants a uniquely collaborative and in-depth experience of music-making. In November 2022, the course will continue to support the next generation of composers and performers specialising in contemporary music.

The pieces in this playlist were written on the Composition and Performance Course in 2019 and performed in the Aldeburgh Festival in June 2022. More information here. It includes premieres by composers Alex Paxton, Laura Shipsey, Blair Boyd, Theo Chandler and Euchar Gravina.
