AWARD-WINNING SWISS HARPIST FROM LONDON

“A CLASSICAL HARPIST FOLLOWING HER OWN PATH”

“CHARACTERFUL, INSIGHTFUL, MESMERISING PLAYING – A TRUE ARTIST TO BEHOLD”

HAVING RECENTLY GRADUATED FROM THE GUILDHALL SCHOOL OF MUSIC & DRAMA IN LONDON WITH THE HIGHEST HONOURS HELENA RICCI IS RAPIDLY GAINING REPUTATION AS A VIRTUOSO HARPIST WITH A UNIQUE PERSONALITY, PRAISED FOR HER COMMUNICATION ON AND OFF STAGE.

Recent solo appearances include venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Barbican Hall, Milton Court, LSO St-Luke’s, St James Piccadilly, Centro Botin with the prestigious Encuentro de Santander Academy in Spain. She toured with the Philharmonie der Animato Orchestra throughout Europe with a final concert at the Vienna Konzerthaus.

This Summer 2019 Helena took part in the prestigious Britten-Pears “Composition and Performance Course”, was selected for the Orchestre de la Francophonie in Canada, the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra EUYWO in Luxembourg and also as a reserve for the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Academy in Germany and the London Philharmonic Foyle Future First programme. Recently she was selected among musicians of all genres across Europe for the Tuning In! artist programme 2019/20 in partnership with the MDW Vienna University, Music Austria and co-funded by the European Union.

She is the first harpist ever to be selected as a Westfield Presents Artist and has performed in the biggest Westfield centre of Europe.

Helena has already played for numerous festivals, among which the LIFT Festival, the Curious Festival, Culture Mile, Fetes de la Musique in Switzerland and  will to take part to the Aldeburgh Festival in 2020. She has appeared live on the radio and been interviewed on Resonance FM as part of the “Sounds Promising” podcast.

She gave an exclusive online interview for “Applause to the Musician”. Passionate about promoting the harp to a wider audience and challenging the perception of the harp as a solo instrument she is the founder and artistic director of MUSILUX, an innovative project which blends solo classical music and video projections. She has been selected as a Guildhall Creative Entrepreneur 2019/20 to build and launch this new business. Stay tuned for more news here!

Helena has won many awards and is grateful for the support from the Help Musicians Postgraduate Awards, Irene Denereaz and SUISA Foundations, Henry Wood Trust, Chizel Educational Trust, Kathleen Trust and Guildhall School Trust.

Helena plays a uniquely red pedal harp, manufactured by David Harps in Switzerland in the bucolic village of Sainte-Croix where luxury Swiss watches are made.
